EV charging in Delhi
Delhi has the highest charger density of any Indian city centre, built out early through EESL, the DISCOMs and the Delhi EV Policy. Find a working station below.
Delhi proper was one of the first Indian cities to treat public charging as civic infrastructure rather than a private venture. EESL installed points at metro stations, government offices and public parking under central schemes, while the Delhi government's EV Policy pushed the DISCOMs — BSES Rajdhani, BSES Yamuna and Tata Power-DDL — to enable low-cost charging connections. Private operators layered on top: Statiq and ChargeZone have strong central-Delhi coverage, and Tata Power runs points at IOCL fuel stations across the city. The result is genuine density, but split across so many operators and apps that no single source shows you everything.
Charging stations by city in Delhi NCR
Delhi sits within Delhi NCR. If you drive across the region, these neighbouring city pages carry their own station lists: EV charging stations in Delhi NCR, EV charging stations in Noida, EV charging stations in Gurugram, EV charging stations in Ghaziabad, EV charging stations in Faridabad.
Where to find chargers in Delhi
Central Delhi around Connaught Place and Rafi Marg carries the oldest EESL installations, several inside government complexes and club parking. South Delhi is the strongest belt overall — Saket, Vasant Kunj, RK Puram and Soami Nagar all have Tata Power and Statiq points, many at IOCL forecourts. West Delhi around Rajouri Garden and Janakpuri, and North Delhi around Rohini and Pitampura, are served largely through metro parking and DISCOM sites. Dwarka has grown quickly with newer mall and society installations. Metro station car parks remain the most reliable place to find a charger in Delhi.
Use the search box above to jump straight to any of these areas — Connaught Place, Saket, Dwarka, Rohini and more are listed, and you can also search any address or pincode in Delhi. Each station shows its operator, connector types, maximum power, last reported status and a directions link, so you can confirm a charger suits your vehicle before driving to it.
Charging an electric scooter or bike in Delhi
Two-wheelers are the largest EV segment in Delhi, and they charge differently from cars. An electric scooter draws far less power, so a standard 5A or 15A domestic socket is usually enough for an overnight charge — which is why most scooter owners rarely use public chargers at all. Where public charging matters is for riders who cannot charge where they park, and for delivery riders who need to top up mid-shift.
For those riders, three options exist in Delhi: AC points on the map above (many work for scooters with the right connector), Ather Grid fast-charging points aimed at two-wheelers, and battery swapping from networks such as Battery Smart, Bounce and Sun Mobility, which replace a drained pack in about two minutes rather than charging it. Swapping has grown fastest among gig riders precisely because downtime costs them income. If you ride for a living, see our guide to electric scooters for delivery riders and consider a model with a removable battery.
What charging costs in Delhi
Public charging is priced per unit of electricity. Expect roughly ₹15–25 per kWh at DC fast chargers and ₹8–15 at AC points, and note that advertised rates are usually exclusive of 18% GST — so a charger quoting ₹18/kWh actually bills around ₹21.24. Charging at home on a domestic tariff of ₹6–10 per unit is dramatically cheaper, which is why owners with home charging treat public networks as a top-up rather than a primary supply. Compare networks on our EV charging companies comparison, or model your own costs with the EV vs petrol calculator.
Driving out of Delhi: highway corridors
Delhi is the starting point for India's best-covered EV corridors. Delhi–Jaipur on NH-48 is comfortably drivable in almost any modern EV, and Delhi–Agra on the Yamuna Expressway has fast chargers at the main service plazas. Delhi–Chandigarh has filled in steadily. The routes into the hills — Delhi–Dehradun, Delhi–Shimla and Delhi–Manali — are where gaps still bite, and gradients consume more energy than flat running, so charge fully before leaving the plains.
For any intercity drive, plan the whole corridor rather than searching city by city. The EV route planner maps your route, lists every charger along it in travel order with the gap between each one, and flags any stretch longer than your vehicle's real-world range — which is the number that actually decides whether a trip is comfortable.
Owning an EV in Delhi
Delhi's EV policy has been the most aggressive in India, combining purchase incentives, road-tax and registration waivers, and targets for charging points, which is why EV adoption here runs ahead of most metros. Air quality has made the switch a civic subject rather than a purely economic one. The defining local challenge is housing: a large share of Delhi EV owners live in apartments or DDA flats where installing a personal charge point means negotiating with an RWA, which is why public and society charging carry more weight here than in cities with more independent homes.
Whether public charging is a convenience or a necessity depends largely on your parking. If you can charge at home overnight, public charging becomes a top-up and road-trip tool. If you park on the street or in a shared lot, weight charger availability near home and work heavily when choosing a vehicle, and consider a two-wheeler with a removable battery if that fits your use.
Checking whether a charger actually works
Across India a meaningful share of listed public chargers are non-functional at any given time, and Delhi is no exception — broken connectors, offline payment systems, blocked bays and unpowered units are all common. Every station on this map shows its last reported status, and EV owners can report what they find on arrival, so you see community evidence rather than only a database entry. If you use a charger here, taking a moment to report it working or not working makes the map more reliable for the next driver in Delhi.
Thinking of setting up a charging station in Delhi?
Charger demand in Delhi is growing faster than supply in several pockets, which is why a growing number of enquiries we receive are from site owners rather than drivers. If you have land, a shop, a fuel station or a parking facility in the city, our guide to setting up an EV charging station covers the investment, approvals, subsidies and site selection, and the ROI calculator models the payback for your specific numbers. Planning to buy an EV instead? Compare models in the electric cars and electric scooters catalogues.
