Electric scooter & two-wheeler subsidy in Gujarat

Two-wheelers get the most support. Electric scooter and bike buyers in Gujarat qualify for the central PM E-DRIVE incentive of ₹2,500 per kWh of battery, capped at ₹5,000, applied automatically at the dealer (the electric two-wheeler incentive is scheduled to end 31 July 2026). On top of that, Gujarat's own support — Discontinued (2024) — applies to eligible two- and three-wheelers where active. So an electric scooter is where the subsidy adds up most in Gujarat. Browse electric scooters or see the full electric scooter subsidy guide.

Do electric cars get a subsidy in Gujarat?

Electric cars get no central cash subsidy anywhere in India — the Centre's view is that the concessional 5% GST already makes them cheaper. In Gujarat, car buyers mainly benefit from the road-tax and registration savings (1% (reduced) until March 2026). A few states add a small car incentive; check the Gujarat portal for the current position.

State EV policies change frequently and several windows hinge on notifications around March 2026. Always confirm the current entitlement on the official Gujarat transport/EV portal before you buy — this page is general information, not financial or legal advice.

Central scheme (applies in Gujarat too)

On top of Gujarat's benefits, the central PM E-DRIVE scheme gives electric two- and three-wheeler buyers ₹2,500 per kWh, capped at ₹5,000 (the e-2W incentive is scheduled to end 31 July 2026). Every EV — including cars — is taxed at just 5% GSTversus 18–40% on petrol/diesel. Electric cars get no central cash subsidy anywhere in India. See the full national EV subsidy guide for the complete central picture.
