1. Exicom Tele-Systems
The most focused EV charger manufacturer in India and the clear market leader, with a reported ~60% share of residential chargers and around a quarter of the public charger market. Based in Gurugram, Exicom built its expertise in telecom power systems before moving into EV charging, and listed on the NSE in 2024. Its range spans AC units from 3.3 kW through DC fast chargers to 240 kW.

2. Servotech Renewable Power System
A Delhi-based manufacturer with a large plant at Sonipat, Haryana, producing EV chargers alongside solar inverters and power electronics. Servotech is unusual in doing both sides of the business: it manufactures AC 7–22 kW and DC 25–60 kW chargers, and operates its own charging network under the Incharz brand. It has announced capacity expansion targeting 12,000 units a year.
Why it matters: strong in PSU and fleet contracts, and its dual model means it uses its own hardware in the field — a useful signal of confidence in the product.
3. Delta Electronics India
The Indian arm of Taiwan's Delta Group, and one of the most technically capable manufacturers operating here. Its Krishnagiri plant in Tamil Nadu produces chargers and rectifier modules for both domestic use and export, with a range running from 7 kW AC to 350 kW ultra-fast DC. Delta has supplied 150 kW units for electric bus fleets and partnered with BESCOM on public deployments.
Why it matters: the go-to for high-power installations, and central to Tamil Nadu's emergence as India's charger manufacturing hub.
4. ABB India
ABB brings global electrification engineering to the Indian market, with a portfolio from 3 kW AC wallboxes to 1.2 MW heavy-duty chargers for buses and trucks. Its flagship Terra 360 can charge four vehicles simultaneously and deliver around 100 km of range in under three minutes. Hardware is backed by the ABB Ability cloud platform for remote monitoring and predictive maintenance.
Why it matters: the strongest option for depot, fleet and expressway installations where power and uptime outweigh cost.
5. Okaya EV
Part of the Okaya Power Group, and a major force in volume manufacturing with a claimed ~40% share of India's EV charger manufacturing. Its range covers AC 3.3–22 kW and DC 30–360 kW supporting CCS2, CHAdeMO and GB/T. Okaya holds some of the largest public-sector contracts in the market: 600 DC fast chargers for HPCL, 2,550 chargers for Indian Oil under a ₹125 crore programme, and a Shell India partnership.
Why it matters: if you charge at a fuel station in India, you are likely using Okaya hardware. Multi-standard support makes it a safe default for mixed-vehicle sites.
6. Bolt.Earth
Rather than competing on high-power DC, Bolt.Earth built its business on low-cost smart sockets and light-EV chargers deployed at enormous scale for two- and three-wheelers, paired with its own charger-management software. Its 3.3 kW units and host-sponsored model let property owners deploy with minimal capital outlay.
Why it matters: the dominant hardware in India's largest EV segment by volume — scooters and three-wheelers, not cars.
7. Mass-Tech Controls and Charzer
Two established Indian names worth knowing. Mass-Tech Controls is a long-standing power-electronics manufacturer producing AC and DC charging hardware. Charzer takes the opposite approach to ABB — compact, very low-cost chargers designed to be hosted by small shops and kirana stores, an approach well matched to Indian street-level density.
AC or DC — which type of charger do you need?
AC chargers (3.3–22 kW) are what you install at home, an office or any location where vehicles park for hours. They are cheaper, gentler on the battery, and simpler to install — often needing no more than an upgraded connection. A 7.4 kW AC unit will fully charge most electric cars overnight.
DC fast chargers (25 kW and above) are for locations where people stop briefly: highways, fuel stations, commercial hubs. They add substantial range in 30–60 minutes but cost dramatically more, both for the hardware and for the electrical infrastructure — a DC installation often requires a new transformer and a significantly upgraded sanctioned load.
For two-wheelers, light-EV chargers and battery-swapping hardware form a separate category, generally using proprietary or LECCS connectors rather than CCS2.

Certifications to check before buying
Charging hardware is high-power electrical equipment installed outdoors in Indian conditions, so certification is not a formality. Look for:
- ARAI or iCAT certification — the standard Indian automotive approvals
- NABL-accredited testing — independent laboratory validation
- BIS compliance — Bureau of Indian Standards
- Connector standards — CCS2 and Type 2 for cars; Bharat AC001/DC001 for older and light-EV use; LECCS for two- and three-wheelers
- IP rating — weather protection, which matters in monsoon conditions
- OCPP support — the open protocol that lets a charger work with third-party management software rather than locking you to one vendor
That last point is worth emphasising for site owners: an OCPP-compliant charger can be moved between networks and management platforms. A proprietary one cannot, which limits your options if you later change operator.
Made in India — and why Tamil Nadu matters
Charger manufacturing has concentrated in Tamil Nadu, where Delta and other global players build export-ready fast chargers from 60 kW to 350 kW. Haryana is the other cluster, with Exicom in Gurugram and Servotech's Sonipat plant. The practical effect for buyers is shorter lead times, local service support and spare-part availability — all of which matter more than they sound when a charger fails and every day offline is lost revenue.
Choosing a charger brand for your site
- Home charging: use the charger supplied with your vehicle, or an AC unit from Exicom, Servotech or Okaya. Check warranty and installation support.
- Shop, office or apartment: AC 7–22 kW is usually sufficient. Prioritise OCPP support and local service reach.
- Highway or fuel station: DC 60 kW and above from Delta, ABB, Exicom or Okaya. Factor the electrical infrastructure into the budget from day one.
- Fleet or bus depot: high-power ABB or Delta units with load management across multiple chargers.
