How do you calculate an EV's running cost?+
You calculate an EV's running cost by multiplying its energy use (kWh per km) by your electricity tariff (₹ per unit). For example, a car using 0.15 kWh/km at ₹8 per unit costs about ₹1.2 per km. Our EV vs petrol cost calculator does this automatically and compares it with fuel.
How is EV range calculated?+

How do you calculate EV charging time?+
Charging time is roughly the battery capacity (kWh) divided by the charger's power (kW), plus some overhead. A 40 kWh battery on a 7 kW home charger takes about 6 hours; a 50 kW DC charger does 10 to 80 percent in under an hour. Our range and charging calculator helps you estimate it.

How do you calculate the battery size you need?+
Work out the battery size you need from your longest regular trip and how often you can charge. Multiply your typical daily km by consumption (about 0.15 kWh/km for a car) and add a comfortable buffer. If you charge at home nightly, a smaller battery is fine; frequent long trips need a bigger one.
How do you calculate EV per-km cost?+
