Ather Energy has launched the 450X Overtones Series, priced from ₹1,53,499 (ex-showroom). This is a colour-and-charging refresh rather than a new model — the motor, battery and platform carry over unchanged — but the two updates it does bring are worthwhile, headlined by a faster onboard charger.
A 900 W charger that cuts charging time ~30%

The Overtones name refers to a set of new dual-tone paint schemes — bright contrasting trims paired with the existing greys and white: Red with Space Grey, Yellow with Lunar Grey and Green with Still White. These finishes cost about ₹1,000 more than the standard single-tone shades. Mechanically the scooter is identical to the regular 450X, so this is very much an aesthetic-plus- charging package rather than a performance upgrade.
AtherStack 7 software on board
The Overtones Series ships with Ather's latest AtherStack 7 software, which brings features such as CrashAlert, ParkSafe, LockSafe, Infinite Cruise and Voice on Ather for voice commands. Existing 450X owners on compatible hardware typically receive these additions over the air, so the software itself is not exclusive to the new variant — but it is the version buyers can expect out of the box.
Why it matters
The timing is notable.
